Overdrive Balancer Assembly
2007-2014 GT500
Innovator's West PN 827 or 828
Manufactured in the USA by Innovator's West, this balancer installs directly in place of the factory unit. It is precision-machined for precise fit and perfect balance, and at only 11 lbs it removes significant rotating weight from the front of the crankshaft.
The pulley ring that drives the supercharger measures 7.950" (+10%) for part number 827, and 8.130" (+15%) for part number 828. This additional size provides an approximate gain of 3-4 lbs of boost for the +10% unit and 4-5 lbs for the +15% unit. A new heavy-duty balancer bolt is included.
This overdrive balancers work exceptionally well with our 2.60" supercharger pulley and auxiliary idler kit, also listed in this section.
Note 1: A longer supercharger belt is needed when installing this overdrive balancer. The Gates K100852 (or equivalent) is recommended for use with the +10% balancer.
Note 2: Some filing of the casting on the front cover is necessary to provide clearance to allow for the larger diameter of these balancers. The +15% OD balancer cannot be used on the 2013-2014 cars with the Track Pack option.
The Super Duty Hub Upgrade is generally recommended for
vehicles making 900HP or more. It
includes a heavy-duty steel hub that mates with the crankshaft snout (where the
load is highest), and this hub is machined from a higher grade of steel and is larger
in size. A new seal is included with the
SD balancers for use in the front cover to accommodate the larger hub.
There is no downside to using a SD hub balancer other
than the slight difference in cost.
