Billet Watts Link Kit
Fits All 1998-2011 Panther Vehicles, Including Crown Vic, Mercury Marauder, Grand Marquis, Town Car
Our Watts Link Kit installs as a direct replacement for the factory components, but offers the major benefits of the dramatically stronger billet design and high-graphite polyurethane bushings. No other watts link design (boxed or bent steel stock) can match the strength of our design, in which each link is precision-machined from a solid block of certified North America-sourced 6061 aluminum. Another benefit to our machined design is the accuracy of the critical dimensions, such as the angles of the links and the center-to-center points of each link. Because of their process, welded steel parts can not even come close.
Each watts link bushing has a high-graphite content, resulting in a low-friction, low-deflection joint that is both noiseless and nearly maintenance-free. The aluminum links are clear-anodized to ensure long-lasting surface protection. Our kit requires no modifications to the vehicle for installation.
The optional Watts Link stud is an ARP-manufactured part intended to replace the original stud that mounts the watts link central pivot assembly to the axle housing. This stud bears all of the lateral load of the watts link, and in severe applications (road racing, road course, drifting, etc) the Ford stud will fail. Failure of this stud allows the axle housing to move laterally relative to the body and frame of the car, often resulting in significant collateral damage. The hardened ARP stud is a permanent solution to this potential problem and it installs as a direct replacement for the original part.
*Important Note: All Metco Motorsports Watts Link Kits are machined to accept the original level bracket for the optional Air Ride Suspension. As shipped, our Watts Link will accept the OEM level bracket, with minor modifications to the original bracket.
This kit includes (2) links and all necessary hardware. Detailed installation instructions are included, which include the specifics of modifying an OEM level bracket for Air Ride applications.
