Innovator's West Balancer Assembly
1999-2004 Lightning, 2003-2004 Supercharged Harley-Davidson F150
Innovator's West PN 802/963
This balancer kit is manufactured by Innovator's West. It is precision-machined in the USA and meets or exceeds all SFI specifications.
This assembly installs as a direct replacement for the heavy stock balancer, and using the included adapter, will accept Metco Motorsports crank pulley rings (sold separately) without the need for a crank pulley hub. Our crank pulley rings bolt directly to the six-bolt flange machined into the face of the balancer, turning the typical three-piece assembly (balancer, hub, and ring) to a simpler two-piece assembly (balancer and ring). And like all Innovators West balancers, the balancer case contains rotating discs in a heavy viscous fluid, which is a very, very effective mechanism for dampening the harmonics and vibrations associated with a performance engine.
This balancer represents a convenient way to upgrade your stock cast steel balancer to a precision-unit, and to conveniently take advantage of the added boost provided by our crank pulley rings.
Note: Metco crank pulley rings are available in an underdrive size (6.55"), the stock size, and +2 lb, +4 lb, +6 lb, +8 lb, +10 lb sizes. Rings are listed elsewhere in this section.
The Super Duty Hub Upgrade is generally recommended for
vehicles making 900HP or more. It
includes a heavy-duty steel hub that mates with the crankshaft snout (where the
load is highest), and this hub is machined from a higher grade of steel and is larger
in size. A new seal is included with the
SD balancers for use in the front cover to accommodate the larger hub.
There is no downside to using a SD hub balancer other
than the slight difference in cost and the slight effort required to replace the front seal.
