1978-1988 GM G-Body (Cutlass, El Camino, Regal, Malibu, Grand Prix, Monte Carlo)
The Metco Motorsports high performance lower control arms for the G-Body are CNC-machined from 6061-T6511 billet aluminum for unsurpassed strength and precision-fit. The control arms are clear-anodized for long-lasting surface protection.
Critical dimensions like the center-to-center length of the arm, the width of the control arms at the mounting points, and the sway bar attachment points are CNC-machined with a level of accuracy that can't be match with a welded steel assembly.
Our control arms are designed to be installed as a direct replacement for the factory control arms, but offer the benefits of the dramatically stronger billet design and Energy Suspension-brand polygraphite bushings. Each bushing has a grease fitting for long term, noise-free service. The arms are machined to accept the factory rear sway bar (or aftermarket equivalent) and require no modifications to the vehicle for installation.
Detailed installation instructions and high-grade mounting hardware are included.
Note regarding bushing selection: For street and street/strip vehicles, the standard high-graphite polyurethane bushings are recommended. For more strip-oriented vehicles frequently on slicks, the composite/polyurethane bushing combination can be used. Our composite is a very low-friction, low-deflection material that allows near-zero compression at each control arm mounting point, but without the noise and wear issues associated with heim ends or spherical joints. Composite bushings offer extreme durability but as expected do increase the level of NVH felt inside the vehicle. Please call for details and pricing.
