Q: Does this isolator add longevity compared to the original spring loaded 1 It sounds like Gm dealers refuse to use anything but the springloaded one when rebuilding the LSA supercharger

The isolator we sell is manufactured by Eaton, and for many, many years it has been the go-to replacement for the original spring-loaded coupler. The spring-loaded couplers ease the load between the supercharger pulley and the supercharger rotors, but the spring quickly wears a deep groove into the supercharger shaft, creating harmful metallic dust that will ultimately lead to failures in the seals and bearings. The first sign that this is happening is the infamous rattle in the supercharger snout when the engine is running.

Most superchargers in OEM applications use a solid connection between the supercharger pulley and the rotors.
